Destiny 2 Jurassic Green God Roll Guide

Festival of the Lost is live in Destiny 2 and this year it introduces the Jurassic Green pulse rifle as a reward.

Jurassic Green is a Rapid-Fire Frame, so it has deeper ammo reserves and faster reload when magazine is empty.

Jurassic Green is a reintroduction of sorts as the Destiny 2 vanilla pulse rifle Lincoln Green. Lincoln Green was a kinetic pulse rifle, Jurassic Green is a solar one.

How to Get Jurassic Green

Jurassic Green is only available during Festival of the Lost, and the only way to get it is from completing Haunted Sectors. The more spectral pages you convert into Manifested Pages the more drops you can get after completing a Haunted Sector.

You get Spectral Pages from completing any activity while wearing a Masquerader’s mask. That would be public events, strikes, crucible, gambit, raids, and seasonal activities like Astral Alignment or event Hunt’s (which is a great way to farm them).

You turn Spectral Pages into Manifested Pages by completing summoning rituals in the Haunted Sectors, which just means defeating Headless Ones.

You’re guaranteed to get a Jurassic Green for completing the Festival of the Lost questline, and if you have an Ascendant Lens from last Festival of the Loss, you can turn it into Mara in the Helm after finishing the Festival of the Lost quest for 21 spectral pages and three or four Jurassic Green’s.

If you like rapid-fire pulses like Darkest Before, Horror’s Least, then you’ll want to farm for Jurassic Green while you can.

Festival of the Lost last until reset on November 2nd.

Destiny 2 Jurassic Green God Roll

Destiny 2 Jurassic Green God Roll Guide

At base, Jurassic Green has 23 Impact, 34 Range, 47 Stability, 27 Handling, 34 Reload Speed, 76 Aim Assistance, 17 Zoom, and a Recoil Direction of 50.

We’re looking at the PvP god roll first.

As a Rapid Fire Frame, Jurassic Green has an Optimal TTK of 0.80 seconds requiring 7 crits and 2 body which is a three burst. It’s body shot TTK is 1.40 seconds, requiring 14 shots/5 bursts.

It does 24 to the head, 14 to the body. You can increase this damage and improve on the TTK with Multikill Clip.

For PvP, and as a controller player, we’re looking for stability and a little extra range. If you’re on PC with M&KB you can focus on range.

The PvP God Roll is:

  • Smallbore – +6 Stability, +7 Range
  • Ricochet Rounds – +5 Range, +9 Stability
  • Heating Up – Final blows increase accuracy, stability and recoil direction for 5.5 seconds. At 1x it’s 15% Accuracy, +15 Stability, and ~20 Recoil Direction. At 2x, it’s 30% Accuracy, +30 Stability, and ~40 Recoil Direction.
  • Multikill Clip – Reloading grants increased damage based on number of rapid kills made before reloading. 1x is 17%, 2x is 33%, and 3x is 50%. Stacks reset after reloading and last for 5 seconds.
  • Stability Masterwork (Fully Masterworked gives +9 Stability)
  • Counterbalance Stock Mod – +15 Recoil Direction.

The counterbalance mod makes the recoil 65, which is perfectly vertical. With Heating Up x2, it’s maxed recoil and also maxed stability.

The first perk tree, where we have Heating Up, is solid across the board. I think Heating Up is the best, but literally everything in the tree is great for PvP. You can get Tunnel Vision (pairs great with Multikill Clip), Subsistence, Killing Wind, Threat Detector, and Rangefinder.

If I were to rank them, it’d be 1. Heating Up, 2. Rangefinder, 3. Tunnel Vision, 4. Killing Wind, 5. Subsistence, and 6. Threat Detector.

Unfortunately, for PvP anyway, the last tree really only has one great option and that’s Multikill Clip. Not saying there aren’t builds that would benefit from other perks, or that they’re all garbage, but they’re not MKC. You can get Wellspring, Frenzy, Adrenaline Junkie, Unrelenting, and Dragonfly.

If you get Adrenaline Junkie, keep it. That perk is getting some sort of a buff or rework in the future.

If you don’t get Smallbore but get everything else, Polygonal Rifling, Corkscrew Rifling and Fluted Barrel are also decent and will give some Stability.

For PvE, Subsistence is king and can be paired well with pretty much any option in the final tree. These pulses aren’t the best for PvE though, so it’ll be most useful in PvP where these rifles are fantastic.

Final Thoughts on Jurassic Green

I absolutely love using Rapid Fire pulse rifles paired with a side-arm in PvP. This season I’ve been rocking Traveler’s Chosen with Darkest Before and having a blast.

While I love my Darkest Before, I will be farming Haunted Sectors as much as I can before Festival of the Lost goes away. I’m hoping to get my god roll listed above, but also a few other good rolls (Rangefinder + Multikill Clip for example).

Luckily, Haunted Sectors are way better than the old Haunted Forest. The activity is rewarding, isn’t difficult, and doesn’t take too long (less than 10 minutes).

Highly recommend farming for a good Jurassic Green while you can. Festival of the Lost ends at reset on November 2nd, so you have about three weeks to grind this out for this god roll or your preferred roll.
