AEW Gets New Friday Night Show In August, Dynamite Moves to TBS Next Year

Turner Networks announced today that in January 2022, a AEW Dynamite will be moving to TBS. Dynamite will remain airing on Wednesday Nights.

On August 13, 2021, AEW will debut a new hourlong television series called AEW Rampage. Rampage will debut on TNT and will then also move to TBS in January.

Rampage will air on Friday evenings, but will not compete against WWE’s Smackdown. The hour long show will an hour before Smackdown.

“As a lifelong wrestling aficionado who is privileged to present AEW to longtime and new fans alike, it means a lot to me – personally and professionally – to share the news that All Elite Wrestling will call TBS home beginning in 2022,” said Khan, CEO, GM and Head of Creative of AEW. “The history of wrestling in the United States cannot be told without acknowledging the contributions of TBS, which as WTBS years ago delivered wrestling to the Southeast and eventually to a massive national audience. TBS has the same passion for wrestling today, but will offer AEW and our fans more prime time programming, content and global opportunities that will establish TBS as the world’s undisputed destination for wrestling.”

It was also announced that four AEW annual specials will air on TNT culminating with the move to TBS.

Details on the annaul specials weren’t revealed, but they could be akin to the old WCW Clash of the Champions events.

  1. I like it. I think AEW have been slowly but surely developing their identity and I’m happy with where they are. I know everybody tries to turn everything into WWE vs AEW but I think the mindset is outdated and there is no reason people can’t enjoy or dislike aspects of both.
