Stargate’s Cliff Simon Passes Away at 58

Sad news in the entertainment world, actor Cliff Simon has passed away at the young age of 58.

His wife posted the news on his Facebook page:

Simon was best known for playing Goa’uld System Lord Baal on Stargate SG-1. He first appeared on the show in the fifth-season and would appear in 15 episodes becoming a big part of the final two seasons as well as co-starring in the movie Stargate: Continuum.

Smith’s Sentiment: For a long time Apophis was my favorite Stargate villain, but then Baal took that spot from him. Ultimately Baal ended up becoming one of my favorite characters on the show period. Simon was fantastic in the role. On behalf of everyone here at Vortainment, our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Cliff Simon.
