It’s the return of #NOWGAMING here on Vortainment, the weekly blog where I go over what I’ll be playing this week.
My game time continues to be limited as I’m helping take care of my dad who just got out of a month long stay in the hospital following open heart surgery and a complication afterwards. He’s doing well and recovering; getting better every day but he’s been through a lot so it’s a slow process.
Nevertheless, here’s what I’ll be trying to squeeze in this week.
Elder Scrolls Online
As I detailed last week in a feature, ESO is my “main game” for the foreseeable future (until at least September). I’ve been having an absolute blast with since returning to it a few weeks ago. Thought it wasn’t so much a return as it was a first playthrough, because though I’d been trying since 2015 to get into it, I could never put Destiny down long enough to make it past level 11.
I’m nearing the end of the base game main quest. I don’t think I will continue to work on it this week though, because from now until the 27th ESO Plus is available freely. I haven’t touched Morrowind, but I do own it so I’ll save that until after the base game quest. I own and have beaten the main quest for Elsweyr, so I think I’ll spend some time this week completing the main quest for Summerset and then squeezing in some other DLC that I can.
I do intend on subscribing to ESO Plus from June (when Greymoor comes out) until September, so I’m not going to try to rush through as much as the DLC as I can. But I will at least work on Summerset.
Destiny 2
I’m not at all a fan of the current state of Destiny 2. I think right now, the game is in the worst state it has been in in franchise history excluding vanilla D2.
The PvE side of the game in particular is just pathetic right now. I’m still playing the game, as evident by it being included in this list, so I’m not going to spend too much time talking about things I dislike in the game in this blog. You can click here and read through a lengthy post where I go over some of my problems with the game.
This week, I’ll be spending a little time in Destiny 2 checking out Guardian Games and doing a little PvP. I’m still working on the Revoker quest; that’s not because I’m not good at sniping, but rather because I have a hard time putting down my sidearms to bother using a Beloved in PvP. I’m a double primary guy, I have to force myself to use a special weapon in Crucible (and I almost never touch heavy).
Final Fantasy VII Remake
I got the Deluxe Edition of this as a Birthday present last week, but I haven’t been able to put much time at all into it. So far, I’ve only completed the first chapter, but that was definitely a fun trip down memory lane.
I will likely play very little of it again this week, though I am going to try work in chapter’s two and maybe three this weekend.
