Bungie revealed the next chapter of Destiny 2 today, an expansion pack called Shadowkeep.
When Shadowkeep releases on September 17, 2019, it’ll do so alongside Destiny 2: New Light.
Destiny 2: New Light is the entire Destiny base game, with the Curse of Osiris and Warmind expansions, all the strikes, crucible, Gambit, and patrol destinations available free for all players across all platforms.
New players, or veterans creating new characters, will start off doing a remastered version of the opening mission from Destiny 1 in the Cosmodrome. From there, players will land in the Tower and be free to go do what they want. Patrol zones will unlock as the player completes tasks, and free players will be able to visit The Tangled Shore, Dreaming City, and the Moon to complete patrols and public events.
To do story campaign from Forsaken, the activities from the Annual Pass content, and the campaign and new activities with Shadowkeep, players will need to purchase that content. You can now buy the complete Destiny 2 Collection (base game through the current Season of Opulence) for $40. Shadowkeep cost $35, with a deluxe edition that includes four season passes for $60.
Destiny 2: New Light will be freely available on all platforms beginning September 17th.
